Aya, the most popular Catholic school student, suddenly shut herself in her room. Her admirer Kasumi Nohara kissed her photo at midnight and suddenly disappeared with her friend Michi as a witness. The loss is quickly attributed to the alleged curse affecting the girls who kissed the photograph of the person they admired in the middle of the night. Aya's photo was taken to the attic by Sakuya Itsuki and Risa to be stored, but both with three other girls were interested to kiss the photo. Except for Risa, who was later found dazed but alive, all were eventually found dead in a nearby river.
When Michi tries to kiss her picture, Aya stops her and reveals that she is not responsible for the curse, because the photo is not hers. They seek help at Kazumi "Mary" Kusanagi, an eccentric photographer, who keeps a photo in her studio of a lesbian girl who made a suicide pact by drowning herself in the lake, which is now closed, due to people's intolerance towards same-sex couples. He also tells of a fated couple when one of them refuses to commit suicide, causing him to be haunted by his lover for the rest of his life. Aya later admitted to Michi that she was haunted by guilt for letting an orphan die in front of her.
Michi decides to kiss the photo to put herself in a curse and tie herself to Aya so that the last one can save her if she is in danger. However, the two are separated halfway and Aya is knocked out by Takashi, the mentally handicapped brother of the nun, Mayumi Aso. He was thrown into a reservoir located at a place where lesbian couples commit suicide. There, Aya remembers that doppelganger is actually her twin, Maya. Even though he died at an early age, Maya "grew up" with Aya and put a curse on the photo until Aya could find it in the dam. Meanwhile, Michi will be drowned by Mayumi, who is revealed to be the one who killed the girls thus preventing Takashi's involvement in Maya's death, but she chooses to immerse herself with Takashi when the authorities close. Michi Go to the dam and reunion with Aya.

Meanwhile, Mary visits the principal and abbess of the school, appropriately concluding her as a lesbian girl who is haunted by the spirit of her lover. The principal points out that to prevent her lover from harassing her, she kills Maya so that the latter can accompany her, though she feels depressed when the action causes more killing by Mayumi, even though her sister has nothing to do with it. After the choir, Michi bid Aya goodbye before leaving for Tokyo to attend a photography lecture. He will take a picture of it, but pull it at the last second and make Aya promise to wait until she becomes the right photographer.
